Tranquility is a new contemporary boutique-style country guest house that resides in the three valleys of Underbarrow, Crosthwaite, and Lyth. The guest lounge faces west with a panoramic view it reveals Cartmel fell, Lyth Valley, then north to Langdales, Kentmere, finally south towards Morecambe Bay and Whitbarrow. Reception rooms: the entrance hall is decorated in a modern contempory style with pastel colours, the occasional antique, ash flooring and rugs, a beautiful ash stair case and minstrel gallery. Our lounge has a 6-metre panoramic bay window which simply take your breath away, offering views to the north south and west. A large open log fire is positioned at one end, whilst the other end hosts a mirror cabinet . The guest lounge is a perfect place to watch the sun set over the valley or to take breakfast in the ambience of one of those special days. The guest lounge also leads on to a large sun terrace which is ideal for alfresco breakfast, weather permitting, on those lazy hazy days of summer one can sit enjoy a drink and watch the sun set magnificently over the distant fells. The terrace leads down to the lawn and the pond area with its very own water well beyond the garden is simply open country side with many relaxing not taxing walks or strolls, possibly to the local pub! Bedrooms: Are large en suite bed rooms.Both on the ground floor and up stairs all with breath taking views. The Cartmel room has a unique egg bath situated in the bedroom plus a walk-in en suite shower room individually designed with beautiful linen to create a modern contemporary feel. There is a choice of king-size 4-posters, Sleigh, or French style bed. All bed rooms have flat-screen TV, tea & coffee facilities and bottled water. The spacious bathrooms with heated floors, and soft background music displaying large baths with a choice of separate walk-in showers to include steam shower, body wash and rain showers.in the various bathrooms. Luxurious robes and soft towels accompanied by an array of organic toiletries to pamper one self at the end of a perfect day and the start of a wonderful evening. Dining room: is situated at the South of the house has soft romantic lighting it creates its own atmosphere for an intimate dinner party. Located in the picturesque location of Newby Bridge, on the shore of Lake Windermere. The Knoll is set in its own grounds amidst beautiful wooded countryside. The house has many original period features including a lovely ornate staircase with stained glass windows, fireplaces, cornices and picture rails. It has been decorated and refurbished sympathetically to enhance these beautiful characteristics. The hotel features in the “Which? Guide to Good B&B’s” and were chosen for the ‘Editors Top 20’ list in the 2004 guide, and have also been included in the Michelin Guide for 2007. You can make the most of the free use of leisure facilities at Cascades, the White Water Hotel’s leisure club which includes use of the gymnasium, swimming pool, steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi. Cascades also offer a variety of beauty treatments. The Knoll has eight large double and twin bedrooms furnished to a high standard offering all the usual modern facilities, plus a few extras like the comfort of bathrobes. In addition there is also a fabulous Four-poster room; a Deluxe Suite with large bathroom incorporating a separate glass shower cubicle and a large double-ended bath. This room also has a beautiful bateau lit bed and comfortable sofa. There is also a deluxe king-sized bedded room with corner bath, shower which offers additional space. Food is a key feature at the Knoll, with a three-course meal available for only £25.00 GBP per person. Being passionate about using quality local produce and creating imaginative and flavoursome dishes. This has been recognised with an AA breakfast and dinner award and the recent inclusion in the Michelin Guide. A suberb dinner service is offered at the Knoll, offering a wide range of meals catering for vegetarians and special diets is a speciality. Please Note, the hotel is not suitable for children under the age of 16.

Located only 10 mins walk from Windermere and 15 mins from Bowness and Lake Windermere, Newstead is one of the few remaining grand Victorian Villas to be found in the area. Contemporary design has been avoided in the decoration of the house in favour of the uniquely, elegant, rich and interesting styles of the Arts and Crafts, Art Deco and Art Noveau movements creating true harmony between the house and the tradition of the area. Each of the 8 guest rooms is individually decorated to a high standard. There are 4 Double rooms with UK standard sized beds and 4 larger King Posters beds. Rooms are all ensuite showers. TV and tea and coffee making facilities are provided. Newstead is set in its own grounds with gardens to the front and generous off-street CCTV monitored parking to the rear. The Brookside a friendly and cosy pub is located some 3 mins walk away behind woods and a stream to the rear of the property. Shops, pubs, restaurants and other tourist amenities are within a short walking distance. Breakfast is between 8.30 - 9.15 at individual tables with a wide menu including a traditional cooked english breakfast and vegetarian and special dietary options.
