Ashleigh Guest House is a traditional Lakeland stone Victorian house situated in the centre of the village of Windermere in the beautiful English Lake District National Park. The House has been restored and modernised to create an English homely atmosphere. We are a family run Bed and Breakfast with a friendly outlook that ensures you will have a warm and comfortable stay in beautiful surroundings. Ashleigh is a totally non smoking guest house. Sorry we do not accept children under 7. The village of Windermere lays between beautiful Lakeland fells and the largest lake in England where there are lots of water sports and lake cruises. The village itself has an excellent public transport system, which covers the entire Lake District. There are also a variety of shops, banks, restaurants, coffee shops and English pubs all within a few minuets walk of Ashleigh Guest House making us the ideal base from which to tour the lake district by car or public transport. Mountain peaks and rolling hills reflected in peaceful lakes, lush meadows, sheep grazing amid rocks and bracken, ancient dry-stone walls criss-crossing the landscape, these are just some of the features which make the Lake District National Park so inviting. Whether you are attracted to the great outdoors, or enjoy visiting interesting places, you will find plenty to do here. Outdoor activities range from gentle strolls or lake cruises energetic fell walking, cycling, water sports, and pony trekking. If you are interested in historic buildings, lovely gardens, museums and art galleries, there are plenty of stately homes, castles, abbeys, and varied museums from which to choose. Many famous writers, poets and artists such as Beatrix Potter, Wordsworth and Ruskin have lived in this beautiful part of the world, and their homes are well worth visiting. 
A choice of five double en-suite bedrooms is available, two having four poster beds and two with views towards Lake Windermere and the fells in the distance. All the guest rooms are centrally heated, have hospitality trays, colour television, a hair dryer, shaving points, ironing facilities and en-suite shower rooms with W. C. Our guest house is within easy walking distance of all the amenities Bowness has to offer; from restaurants to cinema, shops to pubs and not forgetting Lake Windermere itself (a 5 minute or so stroll). Free parking for up to five cars is also available.
Cambridge House is a very high standard small, friendly, family owned by Debbie & Dave the house built in the traditional Lakeland style in 1873 is a victorian house, with many original features. We take great pride in our warm friendly atmosphere and extra tasty home-cooked breakfast which give our guests that home from home feel. We have a large breakfast menu, including of course a traditional english breakfast, vegetarians catered for. Every effort will be made to ensure your trip is a pleasurable one, from tips on places to visit, free use of local maps, walks, cycle routes and much more. Each room is comfortably and charmingly decorated and offer the essential comforts of home such as, ensuite facilities, colour television, all rooms have satellite TV, DVD/CD player and complimentary use of DVD & CD library, radio alarms, hairdryer, hospitality tray and complimentary toiletries. We're just a minutes walk from all restaurants and shops in Windermere and only five minutes walk from the railway/coach station. Also Lake Windermere is only a pleasant 15 minute stroll away, guests staying two nights or more can enjoy free use of the nearby Leisure Facilities of Parklands Country Club (approx 1 mile away). Please note no Hen or stag parties, Cambridge House is gay friendly, we do not have a manned reception, please provide an accurate arrival time on booking, to ensure that you are greeted on arrival without delay. Smoking and pets strictly not allowed. We debit the first night as a non refundable deposit from card details provided. In the event of a cancellation the full amount will be payable, a refund will be given for the nights we are able to re-let (less the first night) . Please note we do not accept card payments at the time of stay, sorry no children under 10 years of age

This provides a most convenient location, close to the many amenities, yet by our being just outside the village centres themselves, it also ensures you peace and quite. Further, "Fir Trees" serves as an excellent base from which to travel to any corner of the Lake District and still easily return at the end of the day. Our bedrooms are lovely, (spotlessly clean) all furnished and decorated to a very high standard and all have private bath or shower room en suite, tea & coffee-making facilities and televisions. A few, because of their particularly large size, are especially suitable for families. Free use of leisure facilities @ a nearby country club which includes, swimming, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room, small gym, snooker, badminton & squash courts. 
A warm welcome awaits you at Glencree, a beautiful traditional Lakeland stone house which is backed by woodland and overlooks a pretty brook. The guest house lies within an easy 10-minute walk of the famous Lake Windermere in the village of Bowness and an 8-minute walk from Windermere village. There are several excellent viewpoints, the lakeshore and tumbling waterfalls within easy walking distance as well as numerous resturants, cafes, bars and public houses. Glencree makes the ideal base for enjoying the fabulous Lake District whether you want to just relax and take in the spectacle, explore the fells, take a boat ride, visit museums and country houses or enjoy a panoramic tour with someone else doing the driving. There is Windermere Golf course nearby, bicycle hire available, forest parks with nature trails and sculptures, horse riding, fishing and all the water sports Being a family-run concern, we are able to offer a personal service to make sure that your stay with us is comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The ground floor has a large guest lounge with colour flat screen TV, a newly-built, walk-through dining room and a ensuite double bedroom for guests who have difficulty with stairs. The delightful, individually designed bedrooms are all centrally heated, have en suite bath or shower rooms, tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryers, toiletries and remote control flat screen TV. Free WiFi is available throughout the building. Delicious, traditional English breakfasts are freshly prepared to order from high quality local produce. Vegetarian meals can be arranged and any special dietary needs can be catered for. For those special occasions, champagne, chocolates and flowers can be arranged prior to your arrival. There are numerous things to do around Glencree and the resident proprietor will be happy to offer advice on the many attractions and walks on offer. The ideal place for a welcome break from your daily routine. 
Buckle Yeat Guest House is situated in the village of Near Sawrey, which is an ideal location for touring the English Lake District and discovering the real Lakeland. Hill Top Farm, former home of the writer and artist, Beatrix Potter is situated almost next door to our guest house. 'Buckle Yeat' is famous for its connections with Beatrix Potter, the cottage being illustrated in the 'Tale of Tom Kitten' and 'The Pie and the Patty Pan' A traditional 17th Century Lakeland cottage with en-suite guest rooms, which are tastefully decorated and furnished with your comfort in mind each also have the additional comforts of tea and coffee making facilities, televisions and we also have free Wifi access for guests with their own laptops and a laptop available for guests to check their email and access the internet. Our family run guest house is open throughout the year and a warm and friendly welcome awaits our guests wanting an enjoyable and relaxing short break or holiday.
