High Fold Guest House provides a central base to explore Troutbeck, Ambleside, Windermere and the Lake District. Its rural location makes it particularly popular with walkers and cyclists - or those who simply wish to 'get away from it all' and sample peace and tranquillity in beautiful surroundings. Troutbeck provides a quiet retreat from the hustle & bustle of nearby Windermere and Ambleside. However guests not wishing to drive to enjoy evening and lunchtime meals will find good food, fine wines and ales at two excellent Inn/restaurants, both within walking distance of High Fold Guest House. Chestnut Villa was originally built in 1904, as a Coaching Inn and is situated on the edge of the picturesque 'honeypot' village of Grasmere. Under new management, the new owners are refurbishing bringing a fresh decor and relaxed, calm atmosphere. Guests are greeted with a warm welcome and are encouraged to come and go as they please with their own key. The B&B has a large and comfortable visitors lounge and a spacious dining room. With fruit, cereal, juice and a full English', we don't want you to leave hungry and strive for all our food to be tasty and healthy. All ingredients are sourced locally wherever possible - further details on dining can be seen on the website. If you have any special requests or requirements please let us know. Chestnut Villa has a total of seven shower en-suite rooms all containing tea/coffee facilities, colour TV and hair driers. Ivy Bank is a pretty Victorian house built in the 1890's from local slate and retains many of its original features. Within thirty minutes walk from Ivy Bank there are several excellent viewpoints, the lakeshore and tumbling waterfalls. We are situated on a quiet road away from main thoroughfares within a few minutes walk of the all the village facilities. All our bedrooms are en-suite and are provided with a colour TV, radio/alarm clock, hairdryer, a selection of toiletries and hospitality tray. In addition, 2 of our larger rooms have a sofa and DVD player. We have off road parking and safe storage for bikes. Guests staying at Ivy Bank can use our membership of a local leisure club. This includes free use of most of the facilities, such as - swimming pool, sauna, steam room, spa-bath, gym, badminton and snooker. We provide an informal and relaxing atmosphere, comfortably furnished and attractively decorated rooms and an excellent choice for breakfast.

Balcony House is Located on the North side of Kendal about 10 mins walk from the town centre. You will find a good selection of public houses and restaurants on your walk to town. We offer you a warm welcome to our Victorian home. Our rooms are clean and comfortable, decorated to the highest standards. Free use of local hotel pool/spa/gym. TV/DVD player in all rooms. Free use of internet available in guest lounge. Parking is available directly in front of the property. Full English or vegetarian breakfast is included in the price of stay. Kendal is the gateway to the Lake District and the perfect base for touring north and south.

Bowness boasts great cafes, restaurants and pubs and is situated on Lake Windermere with the famous Windermere Lake Cruises. A stay at Holmlea is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday and is the ideal base for visiting the many attractions within the Lake District National Park. Take a stroll around the marina or lake shore walk. There are tennis courts, crazy golf and an 18 hole pitch and putt area or just simply picnic on Glebe park and admire the breathtaking scenery across the lake. Holmlea is strictly non smoking and has its own private car parking. We are ideally located for walkers starting or finishing the Dalesway. Children from the age of eight are welcome. We are not able to accommodate pets. At Holmlea we do not cater for single sex groups, stag or hen parties.
