 A handsome Edwardian villa located on the peaceful side of the village. The 15 newly refurbished guest rooms with brand new en-suite shower rooms and White Company toiletries, include a choice of doubles and twin rooms, with two of them located on the ground floor. All rooms are well equipped with 19" flat screen Toshiba televisions, radio alarm clocks, hairdryer and complimentary tea/coffee making facilities. Three of the rooms have King Size 4-poster beds and three of the rooms have super king size beds, if you really want to impress, flowers and/or champagne can be waiting for you in the room. There's a bar and residents lounge where you can relax with a drink, and breakfast is served in the light and airy dining room with its large windows overlooking the garden. Woodlands is open all year round and special midweek breaks are available. There's ample off road parking and credit cards are accepted. |

 The Hawksmoor is a lovely spacious Lakeland guest house with 9 en-suite bedrooms. It is ideally situated between, and within walking distance, of the villages of Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere, where you can find many shops, restaurants and of course the lake itself. The house itself enjoys a relaxing private garden to the front, woodland to the rear and spacious off-road parking. Guests of The Hawksmoor are also entitled to complimentary use of the leisure facilities at Parklands Country Club in Bowness, so don't forget to bring your swimming costume and a towel! Facilities offered free of charge include the use of the gym, swimming pool, jacuzzi, squash court, steam bath and sauna, as well as an upstairs bar with full size snooker tables and sports TV.  We have 6 individually designed cosy bedrooms above the pub.The rooms are tastefully decorated with period features & furniture each with their own ensuite shower room or bathroom. The very comfortable beds are perfect to fall into after a long day at the Cartmel Races or tramping in the fells, Free Wi-Fi internet access and plasma TV’s.The West Facing Rooms have pleasant views of the hinterland. A home from home while visiting the South Lakes. The Derby Arms is a Traditional Country Pub serving good local ales, an extensive selection of wine & excellent food in a traditional setting with log fires and period furniture. |
